My newest vocal New Age album is a musical representation of my journey thus far with the rare chronic airway disease, idiopathic subglottic stenosis, which I was diagnosed with in 2019.
Having surgery on my trachea twice a year, severe struggling to breathe for weeks or months at a time, fatigue, and chronic cough are all a part of my new normal.
Navigating the disease, I work through sorrow, fear, frustration, acceptance, and most powerfully, gratitude. The moment I wake up from surgery, able to breathe freely again, is such an intense moment: Gratitude that I can still breathe. That I can still sing. That I've been given more time to live, love, and make music. It is Breath of Gratitude.
